When finished, the normal pool level of the reservoir will be at 175 m, and the total storage capacity 40 billion cubic metres; the total acreage of the reservoir will be almost 1100 square kilometers.
The dam will cost $29 billion, and will create a 600 km long lake.
More than 1 million people have to be relocated, numerous cities, towns and factories will be flooded.
