about my travel pictures and Travel Photo Net:

Nerja, Andalucia (Southern Spain)the first version of this page went online in 1998. Then, I uploaded some travel pictures from Australia, Chile, India, Japan, Nepal, Scotland, Spain and Sri Lanka. The design was remarkably similar to what you see here today.

However, since then, I have added new images in the above photo galleries, as well as new photo albums for pictures from Argentina, China, France, Germany, South Africa and Tunisia.
Photos from many other trips are still waiting to be scanned - after all, I have a full-time job in "real life" and web design (like photography) is quite a time-intensive hobby!

To fill the gap, I have added a guest gallery for images by other travel photographers (serious amateurs as well as pros) containing a steadily growing number of pictures from parts of the world I have not visited yet or offering a "different angle" on the countries mentioned above.
If this is not enough yet, there are links to other photo-sites that I found particularly interesting.

about myself and my photographic equipment

I have to admit that I have been addicted to photography ever since I was given my first Kodak Instamatic camera.
I was 8 years old then, and have upgraded my equipment several times since.
My present companion on most trips is a Minolta Dynax 9, but most of the pictures on this page have been taken with a Minolta 7000i and a Minolta 7xi.
I almost exclusively use slide film, previously AGFA, and nowadays Fuji Velvia.
So far, I have resisted the temptation of a digital camera - who knows what media will be available a few years from now? So, all the pictures here have been scanned in from slides, - first by a lab and now I'm doing this myself with a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual II slide scanner.

For night photography, I mostly use a Manfrotto tripod and the Manfrotto monopod was very handy in the wildparks of South Africa.
If you want to know more, here are some photo tips.
Photography has become quite an important part of my life, but traveling is even more of an obsession. Getting into contact with other cultures is an experience I wouldn't like to miss and wherever possible, I try to master at least a few phrases in the local language.
When I'm not away, I live in Wiesbaden, Germany, which explains the German version of this page
Now: all the best to you and yours!
